Choosing the right piercing training matters, and our accredited Piercing Program offers the structure, support, and industry standards that informal apprenticeships and short crash courses often lack. Over 24–25 weeks, you’ll learn through a hybrid blend of online theory and in-studio, hands-on training, developing strong foundational skills in safety, anatomy, sterilization, jewelry selection, and professional technique. Small class sizes ensure individualized instruction, while supervised model days give you real experience working on real clients under the guidance of experienced piercers. As one of the first accredited piercing programs in Canada, we provide an ethical, consistent, and highly supportive educational environment focused entirely on preparing you for long-term success. Course Details
Online Theory: Weeks 1-5 (Structured, Self-paced lessons)
In-Person Training: Weeks 6-24/25 (Structured, Instructor-led lessons)
In- Person classes are Monday to Friday from 9am to 3pm, with a 1 hour lunch break from 12-1.
**Please note that your desired intake may be affected by the holidays which will extend it by 1 week to accommodate, this is why we make the distinction for program weeks as 24-25)
Online Theory Curriculum (Weeks 1–5)
This 5-week online theory portion introduces students to the history, science, safety, and professional standards of body piercing. The theory portion lays the groundwork for the in-person practical training. Students will gain the academic knowledge required to understand the technical, cultural, and ethical aspects of piercing before moving on to applied practice. Lessons are self-paced with suggested daily goals to keep students on track, and include:
- Interactive quizzes and assignments after each lesson
- Introductory exposure to guest speaker topics, which are expanded upon during in-person training

This solid foundation ensures that students are fully prepared for the next phase of hands-on work.
In-Person Piercing Training (Weeks 6–24/25)
Upon arriving for in-person training, students review core concepts and are introduced to industry professionals (lawyers, insurance reps, mental health advocates, etc.) who provide deep dives into relevant career topics.
During in-person training, students will:
- Practice marking, placement, and skin preparation
- Learn safe client positioning and communication
- Watch instructor-led live demonstrations
- Perform supervised piercings on volunteer clients
- Gain experience with intake procedures and aftercare instructions
- Learn sterilization processes in our fully equipped, AHS-approved sterilization room
- Receive instructor feedback and progress assessments
- Build skills in a peer-supported classroom setting
n the final 2–3 weeks, students complete their practicum at Cree8iv Ink, working with live clients under professional supervision. During Graduation Week, students complete a final exam, receive feedback on their performance, and celebrate their entry into the industry (please note, graduation will be turning into Convocation twice per year – more details will be provided).
Graduates receive a Certificate of Completion recognized under Alberta’s Private Vocational Training Act. In addition to their certification, students will leave with their own basic piercing tool setup, designed to support continued practice and skill development post-graduation. Additionally, studio-ready kits are available for purchase to all successful graduates of the program.
Students also gain access to ongoing mentorship opportunities and are eligible for discounted continuing education workshops, helping them stay connected to a supportive professional network, and up to date as they grow in their career.
